When you start your book you have the choice of using the Custom Publisher which gives you total control over the design and layout, or the Simple Publisher, which will automatically fill your book and then you can tweak the layout. My Publisher’s photo books have a clean, elegant design, focusing on the images, so for a classy look that showed off my landscapes, it was a good choice for me. In fact, I think my book looks rather spectacular. Coincidentally, MyPublisher asked me to review their books so this was the perfect opportunity to check out their lay-flat option, and I’m glad I did. You can contact me via your customer records, but I believe I am owed £39.64 for additional postage, £8.05 for phone costs to the US to try (and fail) to resolve, and a proportion of the cost of each book to cover the poor quality of printing and paper.I’ve kind of gotten addicted to making lay-flat photo books, and after returning from a visit to Sedona and the Grand Canyon I couldn’t wait to make one to show off my photos of gorgeous red rock formations and amazing canyon views. Therefore you have deliberately mis-sold the product to me, presumably to cut corners during the period you claimed to be "order now before we become shutterfly". I won't be using you in the future and I would consider at least a partial refund compensation as the price I paid was not the product I ordered. I suggest that you no longer ship to the UK. I only ordered from mypublisher because I could be certain I would always get high quality. I would never had paid such high prices for a substandard product. However, I ordered before then deliberately and quite reasonably expecting, that you wouldn't have already implemented savings and changes that to suit you over your existing customers. If I was a first time customer or had ordered the books after the official change to shutterfly this would have been one thing. In addition, I was very upset to discover that the quality of paper used for these two books was half the weight of the books I have ordered in the past. Having spent a lot of money on the books, plus £19 postage to the UK, this charge is unacceptable and was presumably covered by mypublisher when using FedEx. Now if I was a new customer I would accept what the Ts&Cs say about this in the small print, however, I have never been charged this before and would never have ordered them if I had known. However on delivery I was charged an additional £19.82 (each book) by customs by UPS. On hearing about the change to shutterfly I ensured that the 2 books I was working on were completed in time. I have happily had over 17 photo books delivered via FedEx to the UK. I have been a long standing customer of mypublisher due to the high quality. This aspect of this company is less than appealing. Being honest is important and offering wonderful deals to customers that are not wonderful isn't honest. turns out to be about 10 dollars per item thanks to shipping. They make these amazing offers, but then jack up the shipping prices so what originally seems like a great deal of getting 1, 2 or 3 items for FREE. I care about how my photography is portrayed, but I don't like feeling taken advantage of, and more and more Shutterfly is playing games like this with the customers. The price went UP!!! There was this handy little note that said the prior discounts already applied were removed. So, I was aware of what I would pay prior to this enticing invitation. The cart had already applied discounts and showed the price I would pay before the invitation. Recently, I had an e-mail invitation to finish an order of items already in my cart and get 40% off. There is no doubt the quality of Shutterfly's work is great, but over the years their 'deals' are more and more sneaky. I have used Shutterfly for years and years, so I am a tenured customer.
